HOW TO JOIN SCCHE

Membership Information:
SCCHE charges an annual membership fee of $15 due in June / July of each year. Homeschoolers may join the group after June or July; however, they run the risk of not being included in the initial printing of our membership directory. Fees are prorated after January 1.

The membership fee helps offset the variety of costs necessary to run the group, including costs incurred with photocopying, postage, web site fees, insurance, etc.

Membership entitles you to the following:
Participation in all SCCHE sponsored activities and classes
Access to "members only" areas of this website
A copy of the Buzz Book, our phone/contact directory;
A $15 discount when you join HSLDA
A membership card which entitles you to many of the educator discounts offered by local bookstores and businesses.

Because of insurance requirements, you must be a member of SCCHE in order to participate in any SCCHE sponsored activities, including choir, band, Logos drama, Monday classes at Grace, the Learning Center, and family fun nights.

To become a member of SCCHE, please print and fill out the membership form and mail it to the membership coordinator listed on the form. Instructions for who to make your check out to are included on the form as well. (Please don't include your cell or work numbers on the registration form; only list your primary phone number.)

Often times, band concerts will be held on the third Monday of Dec and May, while choir concerts are held on the third Tuesday, due to the increasing size of the bands and choirs. Check out the band and choir pages of the SCCHE web site for the correct times and places for these concerts.

The Buzz Book:

The Buzz Book is the membership communication directory of our group. Besides name, address, phone number and email, families also list their children’s names and birthdates, curriculum used, and the name of their church. Directory is printed annually. Members should update their information during June and July so that a new directory can be printed in the fall. The information listed in the Buzz book is for use by members only and is not to be used for business purposes. For a complete listing of Buzz Book rules, click here. To submit your information for inclusion in the Buzz Book, please fill out the Buzz Book form and e-mail it back to the addresses listed on it. The form is an Excel spreadsheet. If you don't have Excel installed on your computer, you can go to this link to download a viewer for Excel. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/CD011347961033.aspx

Volunteer:
SCCHE operates on a volunteer basis only. There are no paid employees. All the activities, field trips, competitions, etc are coordinated by fellow homeschoolers. Find an area that interests you and call the contact person for that area and get involved. This is a great way to meet other homeschoolers and make new friends. SCCHE needs YOU!

Research:
SCCHE encourages all homeschoolers, new and veteran, to search out and research new and exciting information on your own. Remember and focus on why we choose to homeschool our children. We encourage you to seek out new avenues of education and enrichment for your own family.

To Contact SCCHE Leaders:
SCCHE leadership desires to be of help in any way possible. Please keep in mind that they are also actively home schooling. If you need assistance, email communication is preferred. If you must call, please call during the evening hours, so as not to interrupt their school time. Click here for email addresses and phone numbers.
