This one-day workshop of Improvisation with a focus on comedy acting helps students to think on their feet while acting with greater clarity, wit, and skill!

STAGE COMBAT w/GUEST TEACHER- MIKE MONSEY

Ages 13 & up, Mon., July 20

Mr. Monsey is joining LifeLight this summer to share his expertise in the art of Stage Combat.  Mike Monsey performs professionally in the St. Louis area, appearing with many theatre companies including the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.  Mike choreographs stage combat for professional and community theatre companies.  He also choreographed the fight scenes for LifeLight’s production of Beauty and Beast.  (students who are 13 year olds must have a min. of two years drama experience)  Michelle Beasley will be assisting.

15 MINUTE MUSICAL“High School Musical" 2

Ages 5 -9, Tues., July 21

In just one day, students will put together a 15-minute version of  High School Musical 2.  Participants will work on short scenes, group songs, and basic movement that will allow them to gain new skills and improve those they already possess.  The day will conclude with a performance for families and friends of the participants.

Through basic ballet movements , story or ballet video time, ballet craft, and finally "Ballerina" rehearsal time, students will explore the ballet, Cinderella.

A partnering class for guys and girls.  Learn the basics, such as turns and lifts, that are used in jaza, ballet, and musical theatre dance  Taught by both male and female instructors, so that the specific needs of guys and girls can be addressed.

Week Long Performance Workshops

In each “Week Long Performance Workshop Camp” students will be instructed in stage presence, characterization, improv, dance, choreography, proper vocal technique and projection, learning musical numbers, building the set & props, and stage makeup by being in workshop sessions and going through the rehearsal/performance process.  On the last day of each camp, family and friends are invited to a 7pm public performance of the musical or play. Auditions will be held for High School Musical 2 , Willy Wonka and  The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (everyone is guaranteed a part), and this way you will know your character and be able to memorize lines and songs before camp begins.

By popular demand, and the sequel to our production of HSM.  We are bringing to the LifeLight Youth Theatre stage the smash hit musical based on the Disney Channel Movie this summer! Come be a part of the fun.

Willy wonka the musical

Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to life in this stage adaptation of “Charlie and The Chocolate Factory,” which features the songs from the classic family film “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” All of your favorite characters and songs (including “The Candy Man” and “Pure Imagination”) are featured in this show that overflows with music, comedy and heart. This non-musical dramatization of C.S. Lewis' classic, set in the land of Narnia, recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia. This story of love, faith, courage and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.
