Raging Rivers Readers Program
The fun time of the year has begun! The Raging Rivers Readers program be will begin on Monday November 2, 2009 and runs through December 11, 2009!!!!!

This is a great opportunity to earn a free Adult ticket to Raging Rivers, and free student tickets!!!

Here is all that your kids need to do:

For K - 4 graders:  Read (or have read to them) 150 pages
For 5 - 6 graders:  Read (or have read to them) 300 pages

Parents: Here is what you need to do:
  1. Help your kids keep track of the pages they read by completing and signing off on the RAGING READER Reading Chart.
  2. Complete the RAGING READERS Roll Sheet
  3. Return them to me with a self addressed stamped envelope no later than December 11th, 2009 (so that I will have time to process everything prior to submitting to Raging Rivers). My contact information is listed below.

As I was reading through the information, one part caught my eye and I wanted to make sure that everyone was aware.  "In the past 2 years RAGING RIVERS has experienced multiple instances of fraudulent classes being created by some teachers to procure tickets for the teacher's personal use. The schools that were found to be doing this have been deleted from the RAGING RIVERS Approved List….  All coordinators have been asked to check the teacher/student lists carefully as misuse of this program by any representative of our school will result in the entire school's elimination from the Raging Reader program, and (legal action may ensue) against the offending teacher…."

So I read this and thought, what does this mean for SCCHE members? Remember this program is for our children's benefit. The intent is 1 teacher/adult pass per family/household.  Don't split up your kids so that Mom can get a pass and Dad can get a pass, as that could be seen as "fraudulent classes being created by some teachers to procure tickets for the teacher's personal use".

Here is my contact information / address to send your paperwork to:
