WENTZVILLE/LAKE ST. LOUIS ART CLASSES 2009/2010 My name is Mary Boudreau and I have been a home school mom for 10 years and artist for 30 years. I have taught art within the Midwest in several different venues for the past 20 years. I am again preparing for our next session of art classes. Lessons are based on the idea that EVERYONE has the ability to be an artist, but not everyone knows how to "see" the way an artist sees. Through the understanding of the basic Principles of Art and Design, I have created a program that suits each developmental age group from pre-school to adulthood. All grades will cover the basic rules of art and the different types of media used to create our own personal art using color pencil, ink, graphite, and paint as well as how these mediums change when they interact within different work surfaces. Classes will be held on WEDNESDAYS and class size will be only 5-6 students per class. Classes begin on September 14th, 2009 and run for 8-week sessions. The cost is $10 per week, plus a one-time fee of $15.00 for supplies. Each child should bring a paint shirt or smock to wear. Mary Boudreau Home (636) 332-4878 Cell (314) 651-4963 PHOTOGRAPHY CLASSES John Boudreau, husband of art teacher Mary Boudreau and father of 4 lovely daughters, will be offering a photography class beginning in September. John has been working as an amateur and professionally for 30 in photography, including formal study. His professional experience encompasses commercial photography, and photography work for newspaper and magazine publications. The class work includes the history of photography and the basic science and mechanics of photography (both film and digital). The focus will be practical, hands-on student work exploring the artistic elements of composition, form, color and pattern. Students will use their own camera equipment and master its operation. Participants will learn basic elements of photo processing and image manipulation software. Each 8-week session will conclude with a portfolio of the students work.
