This traditional band setting teaches instruments like flute, sax,
trumpet, percussion, etc. There are performances each fall and
spring.Registration is now underway for Beginner, Intermediate, and
Concert Bands. Classes begin in September. Classes last 1 or 1 ½ hours and are a great supplemental opportunity for home schooling parents.

2009/2010
lessons are scheduled for:
Concert Band at Grace Community Chapel on Thursdays from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Swing band at Grace Community Chapel on Thursdays from 12:30-1:20 p.m. Intermediate Band at First Baptist St. Peters on Tuesdays from 12:15-1:25 p.m.Beginner Band at First Baptist St. Peters on Tuesdays from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Cost
for Beginner Band is $15 per child; $5 per additional child per month.
Instruments available include flute, clarinet, sax, trombone, baritone
(NO drums taught in this class). Instruments can be rented from local
music stores. Space IS limited for each instrument, so call early to
guarantee your first choice. NO prior music experience is necessary.
There is a one time $10 music fee for the year. A folding wire music
stand is also required. Beginners must be 10 years old before joining the Beginner Band! For new students interested in
Intermediate and Concert bands, please contact Mary Bowler to allow her

Exciting Addition to our SCCHE band program! After 12 years of being the lone band director for SCCHE, current band director Mary Bowler has invited Dr. Steve Aubuchon to join her in teaching the home school bands. Dr. Aubuchon is a retired band director of 30+ years with experience teaching middle, high school, and college students. His primary instrument is trumpet, and he is a past member of the local swing group, "Sentimental Journey". Dr. Aubuchon will begin directing both the Concert Band and the SCCHE Swing Band, "The Ambassadors of Swing", effective this fall. Mrs. Bowler will continue to lead the Beginner and Intermediate Bands. There are no changes in location, times, or costs for any of the bands. The bands will continue to perform together at both the Christmas and Spring Concerts. |
